Cluster Analysis

Cluster are groups of addresses which have been identified to be owned or controlled by the same individual or entity. This can be determined via various clustering methodologies such as the well known co-spend heuristic.

Tracker is built upon Merkle Science's proprietary data stack and taps onto a wide range of clustering heuristics developed by our data-scientists.

In Tracker, when a user added a address that is part of a cluster, this will automatically be visualised by placing the address node within a wider circle. Users may then select the Cluster by selecting the outer circle which will pull up Tracker's cluster detail page which provides a user with a number of important information about the cluster such as:

  1. Cluster Size;
  2. Total Incoming Volume;
  3. Total Outgoing Volume;
  4. Cluster Activity Period;

amongst others.

Additionally, law enforcement users of the platform will also be able to get access to the entire list of addresses identified to form part of the cluster and may easily add those addresses to the board in order to expand their investigation.
